28 अगस्त 2018 , स्काडा बिजनेस सेंटर, सोन भवन, पटना, बिहार में आयोजित राष्ट्रीय स्तर के सम्मान समारोह “18वें बिहार सम्मान समारोह ” में विकलांगता व अन्य सामाजिक कार्यों के क्षेत्र में श्रीमती कविता शर्मा के प्रयोगों व प्रयासों के कारण उन्हें सर्वश्रेष्ठ पेरैन्ट केटेगरी का ” मदर टेरेसा एवार्ड” प्रदान कर गौरवान्वित किया गया ।
कार्यक्रम के मुख्य अतिथि बिहार के पूर्व मुख्य मंत्री माननीय जीतन राम मांझी बिहार के राज्य निःशक्तजन आयुक्त (डिसेबिलिटी कमिश्नर) माननीय श्री शिवाजी कुमार ने प्रतीक चिन्ह व सम्मान पत्र देने बाद जब सार्थक विचारों का उदभोदन किया तो लगा मानो पूरी डिसेबिलिटी की फील्ड सम्मानित हो रही थी।
कार्यक्रम में देश भर के राज्यों से आये विकलांगता के क्षेत्र में कार्य करने वाले विशेषज्ञों, समाज सेवियों, अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर के दिव्यांग खिलाड़ियों और उनके कोचों को सम्मानित किया गया ।
समारोह में विशिष्ट अतिथि के रूप में आर.जे.डी. सांसद समीर कुमार , पटना नगर निगम की मेयर सीता साहू, बी.जे.पी के अजय यादव आदि गणमान्य लोग रहे ।
यह अवार्ड बिहार सिविल सोसाइटी-समर्पण, इन्डियन स्पोर्ट्स फेडरेशन ऑफ आटिज्म,इंडियन स्पोर्ट्स फेडरेशन ऑफ सेरेब्रल पाल्सी,एक्शन फॉर आल, बिहार विकलांग खेल एकादमी,पैरालम्पिक कमेटी ऑफ बिहार,बिहार स्पेशल ओलंपिक, बिहार नेत्रहीन खेल संघ,बिहार स्पोर्ट्स डेफ एसोसिएशन के संयुक्त तत्वाधान में दिया जाता है ।
समारोह के आयोजन का दिशा निर्देशन बिहार राज्य के निःशक्तजन आयुक्त डॉ शिवाजी कुमार ने किया। कार्यक्रम के केंद्र बिंदु और हमारे प्रेरणाश्रोत श्री शिवाजी सर का वन्दन अभिनन्दन , कार्यक्रम के आयोजन में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाने वाले श्री संदीप सर का हृदय से अभिनन्दन कार्यक्रम को सफल बनाने में संदीप सर, नवीन जी और पूरी टीम को इस सफल आयोजन के लिए ह्रदय से साधुवाद ।

सर्वप्रथम मेरे माता व पिताजी को जिन्होंने मुझ जैसे साधारण इंसान के अंदर अपार ऊर्जा, उत्साह व आत्मविश्वास का संचार कर मुझे साधारण से ऊर्जावान बनाया,
समर्पित है मेरे गुरुजनों को जिनकी दी शिक्षा ने ही मुझ अज्ञानी को इस लायक बनाया कि जीवन में कुछ निर्णय लेकर अपने आप को साबित कर सकूं।
समर्पित है उन दिव्यङ्गों को जिनकी सेवा का प्रतिफल उनके और उनके अभिभावकों की ढेर सारी दुआएं सदैव साथ रहीं।
समर्पित है उन सभी साथी विशेष शिक्षकों और उन तमाम अपनों को जिन्होंने सदैव अपना विश्वास हम पर बनाये रखा ।
आखिर में अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण बात कहना चाहूंगी कि मुझे मिलने वाली इस प्रकार की हर एक उपलब्धि सिर्फ मेरी नहीं है अपितु इस पर पूरे प्रदेश में कार्यरत हमारे तमाम विशेष शिक्षक भाई बहनों का पूर्ण अधिकार है । ये उपलब्धि हमारी समेकित शिक्षा की है जिसको और और ऊंचाइयों पर ले जाने के लिए हम दृढ़ संकल्पित हैं।
